The Canoe Wales 2024-28 Strategy

Paula Mckenna • Nov 01, 2023

Your feedback has been invaluable in forming the NEW Canoe Wales 2024-28 Strategy!

The new 2024-28 Canoe Wales Strategy has been put together and is now ready for final member consultation

We are looking for your final feedback ahead of the launch in January 2024 so please take a look and tell us what you think!

This document is the culmination of over two years of planning.  It's seen members, consultants, staff and directors all come together to deliver their feedback through surveys, presentations, workshops and forums.

It's certainly been a turbulent few years.  We have done our utmost to understand the impact of the Cost-of-Living Crisis and COVID-19 on our members and clubs.  We have prioritised our objectives for the future accordingly, while balancing the requirements of funders and other strategic partners.

With the AGM being pushed back to January, we would like to provide our members ample time to read and digest this new document, so that we can all discuss when we meet.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the initial survey and who took part in the engagement events.  Your input has been invaluable in this process and we are very grateful.

Within the documents you will find:

  • New priorities which link the objectives across the functional areas of the association.
  • Aims and objectives which match demand for Canoe Wales to run more taster sessions for young people and school children.
  • Plans to further clarify the qualifications and awards scheme.
  • Plans to develop the range of benefits accessed through Canoe Wales membership.
  • A new area within our strategic plan which helps to guide our work within Environment & Sustainability.

Please take a look at either of the above detailed documents and let us know what you think at our upcoming AGM on Monday 15th January at 7pm.

Use the following link to book your slot, it's on Zoom, so you can join in from the comfort of your own sofa!
