As we introduce our squads for the 2023-2024 season, we can't help but be excited about the future of slalom paddling in Wales. Each member of these squads brings their unique qualities, aspirations, and commitment to the sport, and together, they make a formidable team.

We look forward to following the journeys of our athletes, from the experienced members of the Performance squad to the budding Talent and Regional squads. Their passion and dedication remind us that the spirit of paddling in Wales is as strong as ever.

We want to take a moment to recognise the applicants who, despite their best efforts, were not selected for the 2023-2024 squads. Sport is full of highs and lows, and not making the cut this time does not mark the end of your journey. It's important to remember that even the most accomplished athletes faced setbacks and rejections on their way to success. For those who narrowly missed the squads this year, consider this a stepping stone, not a stumbling block. Your time will come, and we encourage you to keep pushing your limits, refining your skills, and maintaining your passion for the sport.

Stay tuned for more updates as the training and racing unfolds. We'll be here to share their triumphs, challenges, and the incredible moments that make our paddling community so special. Join us in cheering on these incredible athletes as they represent Canoe Wales on the national and international stage in the coming year.
