Read our Post-Firebreak Guidance for a return to paddling

Canoe Wales • Nov 05, 2020

On Monday 9 November, the Firebreak lockdown will end here in Wales – which after two weeks of intense lobbying with the Welsh Sports Association, we're very pleased to say means that paddlers will be able to get back on the water.

In order to give you time to plan ahead, we have published our post-Firebreak guidance which will take effect on 9 November. Please do read through the latest guidance before you get back on the water.

The most important changes for you to be aware of are:

  • You can paddle outdoors in a group of up to 4 people – or in a larger group if all of the members of your group are from the same household or extended household;
  • Children under 11 are not included as part of the group size limits
  • You can paddle in groups of 30 outdoors or 15 for pool sessions if you are part of an organised group led by a club or a commercial provider. You must follow our additional guidance for activity providers
  • There are no travel restrictions within Wales, but you should not travel between Wales and England except for work

For our full guidance and FAQs, please check our COVID-19 Post-Firebreak Guidance.
