Vacancy for Talent Pathway Officer (Maternity Cover) Fixed Term Position

Jen Rigby • Oct 16, 2019

Canoe Wales is seeking a part time Talent Pathway Officer for South Wales. This role will provide coaching support to the Welsh Sprint team and develop systems for talent ID and new athlete development through local clubs and centres. Your work will be essential to achieving the ambitious goals in our new strategic plan and helping talented competitive paddlers flourish in a challenging environment.

In this role you will work closely with the Performance Manager to increase the number of talented athletes who enter into the Canoe Wales Sprint programme to compete at a national level.

You will support local clubs to increase paddlesport participation, concentrating on the Cardiff area. Your work will include supporting club coaches and other volunteers in the delivery of coached sessions, providing further mentorship and club support to help strengthen the links between clubs and Canoe Wales, and using these opportunities to identify talented new paddlers. Due to the significance of the link between club level paddling and developing talented athletes, it is essential that you can demonstrate a strong understanding of club level paddlesport in Wales.

We especially encourage people from underrepresented groups and Welsh speakers to apply.
