Join us from 29 March for a 2022 Canoe Wales Roadshow

Neil Kinnerly • Mar 22, 2022

We're so excited! It's less than a week until our first 2022 Roadshow in Cardiff, after which we'll be visiting Carmarthen and Capel Curig, then finishing with a virtual roadshow on Zoom.

These Roadshows will give you a chance to meet our CEO Alistair Dickson, new Coaching & Development Manager Pete Catterall (who will be working closely with our providers and clubs), our Development Officer Lydia Wilford (who heads the #ShePaddles Cymru programme), as well as other Canoe Wales staff, Board Directors, and supporting staff from the RNLI and North Wales Wildlife Trust.

Each roadshow will kick off with an update from our CEO Alistair on the latest developments within Canoe Wales, and our progress towards the aims outlined in the Canoe Wales 2019–2023 Strategic Plan.

Our staff will then introduce themselves, starting with Pete Catterall (Coaching & Development Manager), who will give an overview of his background and experience, and tell us what he'll be focusing on over the next few months. If you're thinking about becoming a coach or leader, are looking to develop your club's activities or coaches, or have questions about the coaching scheme, come and meet Pete!

Other members of staff will be available for informal chats, workshops and discussions in a series of break-out sessions that you can choose from on the night.

You'll also have a chance to chat to staff from the RNLI about safety on the coast, and the North Wales Wildlife Trust about what paddlers can do regarding biosecurity and invasive species.
