so have your questions ready! If you are unable to make it at this time, don’t worry as all the presentations will be recorded. Here's what we've got in store...
Saturday 6 June
The first workshop by Jonathan Davies (North Wales Talent Pathway Officer and Slalom Coach) will be a fun craft model making of a Foam Kayak. See our foamie in action here.
Saturday 13 June
The second workshop will be presented by Dan Goddard (Slalom Performance Coach) and this will be an opportunity for all paddlers of any age or discipline to have help and support in understanding the importance of doing a skill correctly and the hidden details of a stroke.
Saturday 20 June
The third workshop will be run by Thomas Power (Head Slalom Coach). This workshop will link in with the previous workshop by Dan Goddard and will look at ways of conditioning your body so as to be able to apply hidden detail. An example of this would be if you have tight hamstrings, you won't be able to sit in your boat correctly - so how can you loosen your hamstrings to be able to achieve this?
Saturday 27 June
The fourth workshop will be run by Gayle Penn (Development Officer) - this is all about female participation in our sport and what Canoe Wales is doing to support female paddlers, encourage future female paddlers and why.
Saturday 4 July
The fifth workshop will be run by Gareth Bryant (Slalom Talent Pathway Officer West Wales and a founder of Llandysul Paddlers, one of the most successful clubs in the UK). This will be all about the history of Llandysul Paddlers, why it works and is so successful.
