Great results for Welsh paddlers at Junior/U23 Slalom European Championships

• Lili Bryant was called in as a late reserve, only arriving 2 days before the race, and put down a clean run gaining her 11th in qualification and progressing to the semis, where she finished in 16th. She was also a part of the junior team with Nikita Setchell and Lois Leaver which came 3rd in the K1 team event.
• Gabi Ridge came 19th in qualification, with a strong performance in the semis coming 5th and reaching the final, where she also came 5th, her best international result. She was also a part of the team with Megan Hamer-Evans, another Welsh paddler and Sophie Olgivie which won a silver in the U23 K1W teams.
• Megan Hamer-Evans qualified 15th having set the fastest time on second runs. In semis she set a time fast enough to qualify but unfortunately had too many time penalties, finishing 18th.
• Etienne Chappell qualified in 12th place. In the semis he finished 6th qualifying into the final. In the final he put down a quick clean run which got him 4th position narrowly missing out on 3rd by 0.1s.
• Tom Abbott qualified in 2nd position reaching the semis, where again he put down a fast time finishing 3rd qualifying into the finals. In the finals he put down a solid run until the last gate where he was awarded a 50 second penalty costing 3rd position, meaning he finished in 9th position.
