Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and the difficulty that some instructors, coaches, leaders and guides are having in accessing a course to renew their First Aid qualification, British Canoeing Awarding Body will be further extending the First Aid Extension eLearning to 31 December 2020.
We are starting to see First Aid courses being offered by providers; however, provision is lower than normal. Therefore, anyone who was required to renew their First Aid qualification from 16 March 2020, and has been unable to access a course, can complete the
FREE eLearning course, which will be recognised by Canoe Wales and all other National Associations.
The First Aid Extension eLearning is a 15 minute programme, which requires both your full name and Canoe Wales membership number. After completion of the course, your attendance will be communicated to Canoe Wales and your record updated. Anyone who has already completed this extension eLearning will have their record updated.
This online resource acts as an extension and is not a replacement for a face-to-face First Aid programme. British Canoeing Awarding Body will allow extensions up until 31 December 2020; however we would expect you to attend a renewal course within this time period. This should be done as soon as possible and - due to the levels of demand - we encourage early booking.
