Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 May 2022

Great news! We have now opened up day passes for only £110! Ideal for anyone that lives locally or has alternative accommodation planned elsewhere.

If you haven't yet heard, we're holding our first ever #ShePaddles Cymru Festival Weekend on 7-8 May 2022 in partnership with our British Canoeing Delivery Partner, Plas Y Brenin National Outdoor Centre. The #ShePaddles Cymru Festival aims to encourage more women to embrace the world of paddlesport in a fun but safe environment. The weekend will be full of inspiring instructors, coaches, ambassadors, brands and people that fully support #ShePaddles to give you the best experience and create memories that will last a lifetime. The whole weekend will be a brilliant opportunity if you are considering taking up paddling, developing your skills or mixing with the professionals.

What's included?

£175pp - FULL WEEKEND PASS - including:

One night's accommodation + food
2 days of workshops, day trips and instruction
Equipment and kit hire
Event goody bag
Access to the live band
Aber Falls gin tasting on the Saturday night!

£110pp - TWO DAY PASS

Same as above but no accommodation or food

10% off for Canoe Wales and British Canoeing members

Saturday 7 May

Morning and Afternoon Workshops

There will be 8 half-day workshops for you to choose from, led by inspiring instructors and our #ShePaddles Ambassadors – Katie Simmons, Clare Thomas & Lina Patel!

Kayak Coaching Workshop
Canoe Coaching Workshop
SUP Coaching Workshop
Safety and Rescue Workshop
Navigation, Planning and Kit Preparation Workshop
Children’s Paddlesport Fun Session
Complete Beginner Workshop (an opportunity to try all crafts and get a taster for life on the water)
Freestyle Masterclass with Lowri Davies (European Freestyle Champion)
Drop-in Rolling Clinic (no need to book)

Trade Stalls

We'll also have a variety of stalls, including the opportunity to buy #ShePaddlesCymru Festival hoodies and other #ShePaddlesCymru merchandise.

After-the-Water Workshops

We have some motivational talks planned to relax and inspire you after your paddles:

Sustainability and looking after our environment

Saturday Evening Entertainment

As well as the views from the Plas y Brenin bar, we'll have the following to keep you entertained on Saturday night:

Gin tasting session from Aber Falls Distillery (additional charge of £10pp)
Live music from Break the Record
Plas y Brenin will be offering a full bar including special cocktails for the event
Raffle with amazing prizes from suppliers

Sunday 8 May

On Sunday there will be a full day's paddling on offer, and you can choose from the following options:

Children's Paddlesport Fun Day - children will be looked after at the centre by qualified staff while parents go out and enjoy a day's paddling
Kayaking/SUP Journey (eg. Menai Straits, Porth Dafarch)
Sea Kayaking the Menai Straits (weather dependent, likely Anglesey)
White Water Kayaking to Llangollen (water dependent)
Canoe Journey (eg. Bala Lake, Glaslyn)
Introductory Multicraft in Sheltered Water (i.e. trying different types of paddling in different boats or boards)
