Could Brexit improve access to waterways in Wales?

Steve Rayner • Oct 27, 2018

An opportunity for Members and Clubs to encourage the Welsh Government to consider this possibility!

The Welsh Government's consultation 'Brexit and our Land' offers the opportunity for new thinking about how farmers and land managers are subsidised post-Brexit. Payment for improved public access is one possibility. Canoe Wales (and other national representative bodies including the BMC, Ramblers and Wales Adventure Tourism Organisation) has emphasised the importance of this in our formal response to the consultation.
Members and Clubs should consider submitting their own responses to this important consultation (which closes on 30 Oct - see https://beta.gov.wales/support-welsh-farming-after-brexit ) - contact waterways@canoewales.com for a copy of our response which you can use as a template for your own.
