Why join us at the AGM?

The Canoe Wales AGM is your chance to hear about updates over the las 12 months and future developments at Canoe Wales you will be able to ask questions directly t the staff and directors and hear detailed reports relating to our activity and finances. The recovery from COVID-19 is a particularly important time for Canoe Wales to support the paddling community – so, if there is something you think we should be doing more of - now is your chance to let us know!

Our staff and directors will be on hand throughout to answer any questions verbally or in the chat. We’ll also have the Q&A sessions throughout and at the end of proceedings.

This year, as well as presenting the annual report and electing members to the Board of Directors, there will be two new engaging presentations:

Llangollen Canoe Club – ‘Developing our club’s activity to further engage under represented groups’

One of our fantastic showcase clubs, Llangollen Canoe Club, is blazing a trail for thier inclusivity, club development programme and organised events to encourage paddlers from all backgrounds to participate in paddling. We have two speakers from the club delivering an engaging talk on how they went about the change and why.

It's certainly a talk not to be missed for any clubs out there looking to follow in their footsteps and increase inclusivity and membership.

Mike Raine, Canoe Wales Environment & Sustainability Lead - ‘Appreciating the environment that surrounds us when we paddle.’

One of the UK's most recognised and respected, wildlife authors and speakers, Mike Raine, has an endless depth of knowledge about the environment in which we paddle and is going to share inspiring insights into what you can expect to see along your paddle journeys, with a captivating wildlife presentation.

This is going to be a fantastic talk, as the first of its kind for Canoe Wales. We are looking forward to learning more about operating in a more sustainable way, on our path to becoming more environmentally friendly as a paddling community.
