Register now for the 2021 Canoe Wales Roadshows

With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, this year we've moved our roadshows online. Canoe Wales will be hosting three virtual roadshows in March 2021 and would like to invite our members to book onto the event that best suits. We will have 85 spaces at each of these virtual events. If we reach capacity, we will look at putting on another event in the near future.

About the roadshows

This year's roadshows will be held on Zoom:

  • Wednesday 3 March from 6.30pm
  • Friday 5 March from 2.00pm
  • Tuesday 9 March from 7.30pm

Each event will last for approximately 90 minutes. During these roadshow events we will have an introduction, welcome and an overview of Canoe Wales in 2020 and a look to 2021 before heading into breakout rooms.

Choose 3 breakout sessions

This year we invite everyone to choose three breakout rooms that they would like to attend. If you would like to attend more than three then please do ensure you book onto two events. At each roadshow event we will have the following breakout sessions:

  1. Access & Environment - Our Places to Paddle Manager Phil Stone welcomes you to discuss Access and Environment issues and progression.
  2. Coaching & Qualifications - Our Coaching Manager Paul Marshall welcomes you to discuss the new British Canoeing Delivery Partner Scheme along with changes to the Leadership Awards.
  3. Club Development - Our Development Officer Rhys Green welcomes you to discuss general club development and opportunities for volunteer coaches in 2021.
  4. Performance Programme - Our Performance Manager Alistair Dickson and Talent Pathway Officers Jonathan Davies (North Wales) and Lydia Wilford (South Wales) all welcome you to discuss the Performance Programme review and how this can better support clubs in the future.
  5. #ShePaddles Cymru & Young Vols - Our Development Officer Gayle Penn welcomes you to discuss the #ShePaddles Cymru and Young Volunteer programmes.
  6. Meet the Board - Take this opportunity to meet Members of our Board and discuss any concerns.

Each breakout session will begin with a 2 minute overview of what has happened in 2020 and what is planned for 2021; from there we will welcome discussion and questions from those in each session.
