Welsh Training Camp

4 days of training followed by 2 days of racing at a hot and sunny Canolfan Tryweryn.

Over the four days there were 12 Welsh Talent paddlers and 9 regional squad paddlers supported by 4 coaches with a total of 7 water sessions consisting of feature play, tech, full runs and river play.

On Friday afternoon the paddlers had a change of scenery with an afternoon of team building over at Plas Y Brenin.

There were over 60 paddlers from across the UK competing over the weekend.

Both days the paddlers were up against a non-forgiving, technical, and demanding course but this most certainly didn't deter any of them.

We had both tears of joy and tears of disappointment but both of these feelings were generated by the sheer determination by all the paddlers to race at their best.

By Sunday evening Welsh paddlers scooped up 7 podium results and promotion into Premier by Oli Snowden. So well done all!

Thanks to Pete Caterall and Plas Y Brenin for the team-building afternoon.

A huge thank you to all the paddlers and parents that helped over the weekend with the running of the event.

And finally, very well done to Mark Abbott for making this event possible in so many ways.
