The National White Water Centre is based on the banks of the River Tryweryn and is where your activity will begin. We've been running rafting trips on the Tryweryn since 1985 and the centre, built in 1995, is home to the facilities which will make your visit that bit more comfortable.

Although the great outdoors is the perfect setting for your river adventure, you’ll appreciate a little comfort at changing time!  Prepare for your activity in warm male and female changing rooms with coin return lockers, and afterwards enjoy a hot shower in contrast to the “refreshing” Tryweryn wash you’ve just received.

The riverside walk, café, picnic benches and toilets with baby changing facilities are all available for non-rafting members of your party while you’re out on the water.

If you don't fancy taking to the water we have a lovely trail through the woodland which follows the course of the river.

Cool Pics is independently run by Gaele who is operational most days throughout the summer months. She specialises in action photos which are available on site for you to take home as a momento of your adventure on the river! Best attempts are made to catch a shot of every raft, but Cool Pics is a one woman operation so be sympathetic if Gaele misses you!

For special occasions, please contact our photographer to check she will be working when you visit

The cost for this is £1 for 2 hours and £3 all day, this helps us to maintain the car park site. Minibus parking is available for £5 for 2 hours, or £10 for the day.

All prices for rafting include CEN safety approved helmets and buoyancy aids.

You are free to bring a long-legged wetsuit and footwear of your own, or you can hire a wetsuit with boots from our stores.

Regrettably, you cannot wear your own helmet and buoyancy aid due to centre safety regulations. For the same reason, we cannot hire out any equipment to recreational kayakers.

The centre works closely with the organisation Design for Life, who specialise in creating opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors. We pride ourselves on our policy of inclusion not exclusion, so if you would like to discuss your specific needs please feel free to contact the centre to discuss you requirements.

If you are looking for an alternative meeting venue, we have meeting rooms located along our picturesque river to cater for 5-20 people. Projectors, interactive whiteboards and other presentation equipment are available to use. Why not combine your meeting with white water rafting to refresh your delegates? Please call 01678 521083 or click here to find out meeting room availability and prices.

Parents must be reminded that the river is fast flowing and potentially dangerous. Close supervision of our younger visitors is essential. Children’s buoyancy aids are available to hire at reception for a small returnable deposit.
