Quality:

There are two rivers, tributaries of the Tywi, that make great adventures. Both require long shuttles but give paddling in a true wilderness situation.

Blaendoithie to Junction Pool

10 km grade IV with two grade VI falls (possible portages)

The shuttle is awesome, by British standards, and it is best to use a driver who doesn’t paddle. Access is onto the Doethie Fawr at GR742543 where the river should be in good spate. The river has various grade III and IV drops with flat sections between them. In the middle are two waterfalls which have now both been paddled. Egress at Junction Pool GR778466.
