Starting a club

Starting your own club can be a great way to encourage local paddlers and get people out on the water.

The first thing you’ll need to do is find people to help you get started. As a rule, you’ll need to start with a committee, including a Chair, a Secretary, a Head Coach or Coaching Officer, a Junior Development Officer and a Welfare Officer.

When you’ve found people who’d potentially be interested in filling these roles, it’s best to get in touch for a chat about what to do next. Call our National Development Officer Nigel Midgley on 07971 783 080, or email migel.midgley@canoewales.com .
