Canoe Wales is the national governing body for paddle sport in Wales. We:

  • Manage the National White Water Centre which is located on the river Tryweryn in Bala, North Wales
  • Represent the interests of our club and individual members
  • Advocate on behalf of the interests of the sport in Wales
  • Provide coaching and development programmes from local to international level
  • Stage national and international competitions.

Aman Valley Paddlers – www.ammanvalleyaddlers.co.uk – The club meets every Monday night at 9pm in Amanford Leisure Centre during school term times. They have active polo teams and participate in the polo league. The club has links with Llandysul Paddlers and hold lots of surfing and river running sessions.

Antur Gwyr c/o Aled Tinnuche  e mail avat@btinternet.com – a Welsh Medium Comprehensive school club open to all school children (11 to 18), staff,, support staff and goveners. Meets weekly for outdoor activities and hopes to arrange sessions in a pool during the winter months.

Cymmer Canoe Club c/o Harry Worth email to Harold.worth@ntlworld.com. During winter the club meets on Thursday evenings from 7:30pm until 9pm at the Cymmer Swimmong Pool, Afon Valley, Port Talbot. In summer meetings are on Thursdays at 7pm on Aberavon Beach and also on the beahk in summer and winter at weekends.

Gwendraeth Valley Paddlers c/oAndrew Fraser – frazerglaze@hotmail.com - 01267 231 146 - We meet in Carmarthen Leisure Centre pool every Wednesday.  We are on River Towy – home water every Monday evening in summer and have weekend trips to the sea, surf or rivers. Interested in kayaking, canoeing, polo, freestyle, surf, marathon racing, sea & river touring and general recreation.  We have first language Welsh speakers among our membership.  Can accommodate beginners and people with disabilities and can offer coaching sessions in both English and Welsh.

Haverfordwest Kayak Club c/o Richard Williams – richard.williams4@valero.com - 01646 690 610. We are an open, friendly club which meets regularly to take advantage of the fantastic sea, surf and rivers of West Wales.  The club meets on a weekly basis, holding structured pool sessions and beginners courses over the winter months and organizing weekly trips and activities around the Pembrokeshire coast throughout the summer. Narberth Canoe Club c/o Bob Walker – email: rwalker1@toucansurf.com - 01437 765 906  Narberth Canoe Club was formed in 1992.  The club meets at Narberth Pool every Wednesday throughout the winter and spring. There is an outdoor paddle each month (fortnightly in the summer). In summer there is also a weekend camp. The Junior Canoe Polo team takes part in the Junior Welsh League. We have a few first language Welsh members. Can accommodate beginners and people with disabilities and is sometimes able to offer sessions in Welsh
