School Canoe clubs

School canoe clubs are a great way of getting young paddlers out onto the water.

Canoe Wales encourages the setting up of school canoe clubs and actively supports their existence with help in coaching progression for adults, purchase of kit at very favourable rates (exclusive to Canoe Wales affiliated school clubs), specific school star awards which are relevant to GCSE s, and school competitions such as regattas, slalom races and white water races. At the time of writing we are also developing school canoe polo competitions.

We are actively involved in Gemau Cymru, which is a Welsh School Mini Olympics competition incorporating slalom racing and sprint  racing , the two Olympic disciplines in paddlesport.

Affiliation to Canoe Wales costs £100 per year, includes two adult memberships worth £70  ,and  access to the above support and competitions.
