The National White Water Centre is the premier centre for safety & rescue training for paddlesports. Our facilities include modern classrooms, changing rooms, showers, controlled practical venues, top of the range dry suits available for hire, NWWC facility fees included in the price, drying room for equipment and we use current top level UKCC coaches.

Drysuit hire is available at £25 per course. Use of our white water specific buoyancy aids is included in the price of the course.

BCU WHITE WATER SAFETY & RESCUE

This two day course is aimed at confident grade 2 white water paddlers and aims to provide knowledge and techniques to help keep you safe on the water and to equip you with appropriate skills should you end up in a rescue situation.

Cost: £160 per person (group rate: 6-12 people £140 per person)
Minimum age: 16 years old 

 

COURSE DATES:

BCU ADVANCED WHITE WATER SAFETY AND RESCUE

This intense 2 day course is designed for confident grade 3 kayakers and aims to equip participants with more advanced rescue techniques for use in more challenging white water rescue situations. It will develop the principles learnt in the WWSR and consider the application of these skills in a more advanced white water environment.

Cost: £160 per person (group rate: 6-12 people £140 per person)
Minimum age: 16 years old
Prerequisites: Completed WWSR

RESCUE 3 WHITE WATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN PRO (WRT-PRO)

This course is designed for professional river users with existing white water experience. The aim is to equip students with the skills they need to affect rescues in white water situations at a professional level. For raft guides, the WRT is a prerequisite course for advancing to Level 2. For paddlers, this course complements the content of the BCU scheme, significantly exceeding the content of the basic BCU White Water Safety & Rescue. Tried the BCU courses? Extend your knowledge with the professional standard in water safety.

 

Prerequisites: Confident swimmer with experience of either rafts, canoes, kayaks or sea level traversing. 
Minimum Age: 18 years
Price: £290 per person

1st - 3rd May 2018 

 

RESCUE 3 WHITE WATER RESCUE TECHNICIAN ADVANCED (WRTA)

This 4 day course is the next step from the Whitewater Rescue Technician course, it will develop your skills further and is designed for outdoor professionals working in challenging environments. The main focus is on solutions to rescue scenarios, incident management and effective use of safety equipment. 

 

 

Prerequisites: Rescue 3 Whitewater Rescue Technician Pro (WRT-PRO)
Minimum Age: 18 years
Price: £390 per person
